How to use the Run Pace IQ calculator

This calculator works in real-time. There is no "calculate" button to press. Just enter your values to see the results instantly.

To find your pace

Pick your race distance, switch to the Goal Time tab, and set your finish time with the steppers. Your required pace appears instantly in the big readout.

To find your finish time

Switch to the Target Pace tab and dial in your pace — or drag the faster/slower slider to explore scenarios. Your predicted finish time updates as you move.

Tweak your strategy

If you change your distance, your pace stays locked while your total time adjusts. Use the pace band and split chips to plan even splits, and check the equivalent race times for other distances.

Frequently asked questions

How is running pace calculated?

Pace is your finish time divided by the distance. A 50:00 10K is 3,000 seconds over 10 km, or 5:00 per km. Finish time works the other way: distance multiplied by pace.

What happens to my finish time when I change the distance?

Your pace stays locked and the finish time is recalculated for the new distance, so you can see how one pace plays out from a 5K up to a marathon.

Can I switch between kilometres and miles?

Yes. The units toggle switches pace, splits and the pace band between min/km and min/mile. The underlying pace does not change, only how it is shown.

Does the calculator remember my numbers?

Yes. Your last distance, time, pace and units are saved in this browser only, so the calculator opens where you left off. Nothing is sent to a server.
